About Income Store

Income Store is an independent, ad-supported publication that explains and compares ways to earn additional income — side hustles, passive income, online businesses, and the money skills that go with them. We're the general store model of publishing: everything on the shelf, a price tag on everything, and a clerk who tells you plainly which products are worth it.

The shelf tag promise

Every income idea we cover gets the same four-part tag: startup cost, ongoing effort, time to first dollar, and a realistic monthly range — the range a normal person with a job and a life should expect, not the outlier screenshot. If an idea is a bad deal for most people, the guide says so. If something takes two years to pay, the guide says that too.

The honest history of this domain

We believe you should know who you're reading, so here is the uncomfortable part first: this domain has a past, and it isn't ours, but we own the address now.

From roughly 2011 to 2019, incomestore.com was operated by Today's Growth Consultant, Inc., doing business as "The Income Store." That company sold website "partnerships" that promised guaranteed monthly returns. In December 2019 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission halted the operation and froze its assets, and the company's founder was later convicted of wire fraud in federal court. Hundreds of investors lost money.

This publication has no affiliation with Today's Growth Consultant, Inc., its founder, or any successor of that business. We acquired the domain after the company was defunct. We don't sell investments, partnerships, courses, coaching, or "done-for-you" websites — and we never will. If anyone contacts you claiming to be the Income Store and offering guaranteed returns, it is a scam; we explain what to watch for in our guide to online income scams.

We kept the name because the lesson is worth keeping: the surest sign of a bad income "opportunity" is a guarantee. That lesson is baked into every page here.

How we make money

Display advertising. That's the whole model. Ads keep the guides free, and it means our only incentive is to publish things worth reading — we earn nothing from convincing you any particular idea is better than it is. We have no sponsored posts and no paywalls. If that ever changes, this page will say so first. More detail is in our editorial policy.

What we are not
